The Granary

A series of listed agricultural barns around a landscaped courtyard, within a Wiltshire village, have been converted over a number of years into family and guest accommodation.

Working very closely with our client, our project saw the conversion of two further sections to create a two bedroomed guest house over two floors and an adjacent open-sided barn was designed to accommodate an outdoor entertainment area, and includes a grand bespoke fireplace.

The project included the installation of a ground source heat pump and the renewal of boilers to a more energy efficient specification.

Completed in May 2012, with an extremely happy client!

“Nicola and the Stonewood team got right to the heart of what we were trying to achieve with our building project. Our ambitions for the project have been exceeded - by careful interpretation of our ideas and inspired attention to detail, the use of space has been optimised and is aesthetically pleasing despite the challenges posed by Listed Building status.

You breathed new life into the project and came up with innovative ideas to deal with
problems rather than being conservative in your approach!”
