A full refurbishment and recladding of a 1950’s home which provides extraordinary light and views across the Charlcombe Valley.
Stonewood Design were appointed to create a 4/5 bedroom sustainable home with minimal requirement for heating. The design is sensitive and appropriate to the locale of Bath and as a result the proposals are focused around the existing footprint, digging out the existing undercroft and re-building the roof structure to allow further accommodation in the eaves, whilst minimising the impact on the surrounding houses and gardens.
The re-constituted Bath stone structure is overclad with high levels of insulation, and timber cladding. Extensive roof lights within the rebuilt roof provide sun and light to the loft space and living quarters.
