TWO RIBA South West Awards!

We are thrilled to have won RIBA South West Awards for our two buildings!

Read below what the RIBA Judges said…..!

Myrtle Cottage Garden Studio "The project consists of a small discreet building that serves as a space to work, sew, play guitar and sleep. It is discovered and approached from an access road four or five metres below the site and appears to sit comfortably in the steep bank. Entering the space one is greeted by an unusually low ceiling and the perception of thick walls creating an instant feeling of secure retreat. A small recessed log burner heats the space while discreet recessed spot-lights provide ambient and task lighting. The care, passion and attention to detail shown by the architects is particularly commendable."

The Pod Gallery "The Pod Gallery is a rural project for a private client involving the restoration of Grade II listed Home Farm Barn and the insertion of a pod-style private art gallery. The handsome vernacular stone barn hints at a surprise with its beautifully detailed frameless glass windows on the grand west elevation, revealing a jewel-pod of a gallery hovering at the far end. Arriving in the space it becomes apparent that this is a piece of furniture or art rather than a building. It’s an exquisitely fashioned contemporary object that sits proudly in its rustic agricultural surroundings. Pod Galley's refined palette, considered detailing and precise construction is highly creditable."
